The position requires a very strong technical professional experienced in troubleshooting firewall issues, conducting regular maintenances and break/fix changes.
The position is part of the Tier II group that responds to proactive ticket alarms and interfaces directly with clients to resolves problems in a Web centric Datacenter Network that contains Firewalls, Routers, Switches and load Balancers.
Primary focus or skill set being sought is Firewall related - Router, Switching and load balancing experience a plus.
Hands on knowledge/experience maintaining and troubleshooting the following devices:
Checkpoint Firewall-1/VPN software (NG-AI) Checkpoint 4.1, NG, NGAI, NGX, VSX
Secure Platform
Cisco Pix, FWSM, ASA
Juniper Netscreen Firewalls
Lucent Bricks
Cisco Routers/Switch
Citrix NetscalersThe following skills/certification a plus:
TCPIP
CCNA/CCNP
UNIX Skills (Intermediate to Advanced)
Advanced technical expertise across a broad range of technologies.
Advanced and solid experience in troubleshooting Firewall flows
An understanding of Internet DNS, HTTP and load balancing concepts.
MUST HAVE CHECKPOINT VSX EXPERIENCE
Job Description :-
Technical Support for a data center environment
Responsibilities can include :-
Responding to proactive alerts
Working queue of problem tickets
Performing scheduled changes
Working directly with clients to resolve problems
Working with vendor on problem resolution of replacment equipment
Upgrades/Maintenance of devices listed previously
The job is in a production operations environment and requires 24 x 7 service coverage.
So candidate may be shifted to non-business hours.
REQUIRED EDUCATION: 4 years IT or Computer Science Degree or equivalent technical certification or experience
