The Microsoft Word
and Publisher
teams are looking for some great SDETs to take these two applications to the next level. On top of shipping the Word and Publisher client applications, we also help ship the Word Web Application, PDF functionality across office, Page/Table and LineServices, and other related technologies. We are also looking forward to delivering exciting new ways to engage our customers as they consume and share our documents in a digital world. We will focus on everything related to Publishing, Authoring, Reading, and Collaborating in the Office group.
With a massive user base of over half a billion users, everything you do on this team will have huge ripple effects on the world. In addition, we are at the very early stages of our next Office release and have some very exciting ideas of what to build next to delight our customers. We will be building on a very successful Office 14 release and adding even more server/services components in addition to improving our client side code.

As an SDET on our team, you will have complete end-to-end ownership of an entire feature and everything that comes with it including: working closely with Development and Program Management on feature design, writing automation to more efficiently test your feature, strategizing and executing ad-hoc testing across your feature and related ones, developing new testing strategies as needed to most efficiently execute testing, and ensuring the testability and quality of code. Qualifications:
BA/BS in Computer Science or related technical discipline
A minimum of four years' experience in software testing
A minimum of four years' experience developing, debugging and maintaining code in C, C++, C#, or Java
Participated in at least one full product life cycle (SDLC)
Demonstrable organizational, problem solving, and prioritization skills
Good communication skills (written and verbal)
Additional, preferred qualifications include:
Experience testing, shipping, operating, or maintaining an online service
An understanding of server/services testing
Demonstrable understanding of Web 2.0 technologies such as AJAX and Silverlight
Shipped one or more medium to large scale products
