Job Responsibilities:

- The Java developer will provide application engineering and development support to diverse development efforts.
- The developer will perform NEW SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT AS WELL AS modifications to and maintenance of operational programs and procedures.
- This individual must be able to work on cross-functional development teams providing support to diverse platforms

Job Qualifications:

- Must have a mixed skill set with experience in JAVA DEVELOPMENT, XML, JSP, Servlet, JDBC, or SQL experience
- Candidate should be familiar with AGILE, Rational Unified Process (RUP) (preferably) or another rapid development methodology
- Must be familiar with creating UML diagrams, creating use cases and sequence diagrams
- Experienced Mid and Senior level Java developer with at least 2-4 years of development background, 1-2 years in J2EE technologies
- Must be able to communicate clearly in standard Business English, especially when preparing customer deliverables such as applications, help or other screens and documentation
- Must be able to work with other project team members from various occupational areas within and outside the Information Technology areas
- Must be able to work in a software development environment where tasks such as requirements review, development, testing and documentation must be completed within a fixed amount of billable hours; not on a time-and-materials basis
- Must be able to occasionally travel overnight on company business

Preferred Job Skills / Experience / Knowledge

- Experience with analysis phase activities (gathering requirements from business users and creating requirements, etc) is desirable
- Experience with IBM Websphere technology is highly desirable

Job Qualifications:

- Red Hat Skills: 11-15 years experience as an Red Hat Engineer
- Experience with backup / restoration of complex IT systems
- A broad understanding of information security principles as they relate to systems and network security
- LINUX Skills: 6-9 years experience as a System Administrator
- Experience working with Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM Client)
- Experience with SAN management (and associated switches)
- Enterprise and VM experience.
- The Senior Red Hat Engineer should have a strong background in multiple areas including backup and restore, SAN, security and highly available computing.
- The candidate should have at least 11-15 years experience in managing Red Hat systems.

Education:

- Bachelors in Computer Science or related discipline.
- Masters degree preferred.

Preferred Job Skills / Experience / Knowledge / Certifications:

- Windows System administration
- FileNET P8 4.5 PE (Process Engine) and Directory Services (SUN Java System Directory Server and Microsoft Active Directory)
- IBM hardware including blade server platforms
- IBM applications (Websphere Portal and Application Server, Content Manager, DB2, Tivoli Storage Manager, Netcool), other operating systems (e.g., AIX, Windows) and CA SiteMinder
- Experience working with Department of Defense (DoD) data centers
- Experience with technical writing or technical documentation, supporting clear, concise defect documentation

Certifications:

- Red Hat certifications are most relevant and highly desired.
- Any LINUX or HACMP certifications are also desired
