Director of I.T. - Could you be the next CIO? / Confidential / Greensboro, NC

Confidential/Greensboro, NC (Greensboro / Winston-Salem area)Director of IT

I have to start by reminding myself "make this job description about you, the person reading it".

The person in this position will be overseeing a team of dedicated software developers, engineers, and other team members needed to design, develop and implement excellent business applications within the company. These applications are for key business functions, including ERP and customer web portals that improve the overall experience for our end-users (the customers).

There's much work to be done and you'll be well compensated for doing a great job. In the first 60 days, you'll need to restructure the team, build your relationships with the business groups, and start to plan your roadmap based on their key business needs.

Will you be overseeing hardware and the WAN/LAN? No - not initially as Director of IT. But when you've earned the right to be the CIO, you'll oversee those aspects of technology too. So, you'll need to of had some experience that arena for future use.

Key information that I got from the hiring manager that you may want to know: Although this is labeled as Director of IT, the position is about the 'applications side' of IT in the beginning. The CIO is looking for his replacement and feels that they (as a company) need to do a better job in picking people with potential to reach beyond their job and can stretch to the next role in the organization quickly. To me that's pretty cool - because that's what I like to find in a manager. (oh darn, I just made 'it' about me).

The interview process will be tough but from what I gather from the team members I've talked to - it will be well worth it because they say they would never want to work anywhere else.

The projects that are already 'on the table' will require that you have experience in project management, process management, and communicating between the business groups and your IT team. There's an ERP implementation coming up, so background in dealing with a national or global SAP implementation would be very helpful. You'll need a background in IT within a financial group, business group, etc. (manufacturing experience would not relate as well) And from an education standpoint - a degree in Business Administration, Finance, and/or MIS or CS. 7-10 years of experience in IT Management.

I asked the CIO - "what will this person achieve that will make you deem them as successful in this position?"
1) Creating a solid Technology Steering Committee
2) Building great relationships with the business units and the IT team
3) Improving Project Management and Delivery
4) Improvement in specs for deliverables
5) Building a solid team that achieves.

That's it - an interesting job description for a great opportunity. And if this is the right job for you - please reach out and contact me as soon as possible. Apply through this portal or through email at: 404-MH1313@apply.maxhire.net

The position is located in North Carolina (near Greensboro and Winston-Salem) and relocation assistance would be available for the right candidate.

COMPENSATION: 130k +/- DOE and an excellent performance bonus.
