The selected candidate will perform the following duties:
- Develop and integrate Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) system
- Provide technical expertise to team in support of Java and J2EE applications; function as a mentor to junior-level support and development associates
- Help identify new system requirements for existing Java/J2EE system and design, development, and integration of new requirements
- Review development documents and provide functional and non-functional project requirements, critique and direct architecture decisions & application designs
- Assist in system resource estimates
- Identify improvement items associated with existing J2EE and Java applications, make recommendations for improvement and help to plan and implement recommendations
- Work with development team to construct a J2EE application
- Work with application support teams and business teams to integrate the new J2EE application with other applications, and test
- Work with support and business teams to implement and test changes
- Measure and tune application performance

Required Skills and Experience:
- Proficient knowledge of Java and J2EE development practices
- First-hand experience developing J2EE applications using Struts, Spring, and Hibernate
- Experience developing enterprise (J2EE) applications using Rational Application Developer 7 and Eclipse
- Competent development skills using: Java/JSP/HTML/XML
- Understanding of modeling and testing tools (e.g. JUnit) and their usage
- Experience using common build tools such as Ant and Cruise Control
- Experience troubleshooting multi-tier Java based systems, comprising Java applications, Websphere, J2EE web applications, UDB
- Relational Database Development experience (UDB or DB2 preferred)
- In-depth understanding of enterprise architecture, architecture patterns, and design patterns
- Demonstrated expertise in Object-oriented design and development
- Understanding of system and unit testing methodologies and industry practice
- Full project life cycle experience, full use of Microsoft Office suite

Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Exposure to Microsoft SharePoint and Lotus Notes
- Experience re-factoring J2EE applications
