Location: Santa Monica
Santa Monica based Visual Effects company looking for an experienced Linux Systems Administrator to assist with the expansion of this fast growing company.
Visual Effects is a very fast-paced industry. Applicants must be comfortable working under pressure, meeting challenging deadlines and dealing with an ever evolving technical environment. Must be able to work in a creative environment and possess excellent communication skills. This position requires constant interaction with a wide range of personalities, so patience is essential. A sense of humor doesn't hurt either.
Required Experience:- Extensive administration and architectural knowledge of Linux and network systems.- Programming skills in C. C++ and Python.- Familiarity with MySQL databases.- Knowledge of high end visual effecst software and systems such as Maya, Houdini, Renderman and Flame is a plus.
Required Skills and Characteristics:- Highly motivated and happy to take direction. - Must be able to pick up new tools and systems and learn them quickly.- Able to work with very little supervision.- Able to handle pressure, constant interruptions, and quick deadlines without missing a beat.- Happy to get hands dirty and pitch in wherever necessary.- Ability to communicate and work with people of all levels.- Flexible work hours.
