Knowledge Services/North Hollywood, CAOur global digital media client is currently seeking a contract Information Architect with a strong background in Experience Design to join our web site design team. This position is located in North Hollywood, CA however remote work could be discussed. The selected candidate will work on projects for highly trafficked website and other branded business units focusing on the creation of Design Documents used for technical implementation of UI.

Major Responsibilities

* Design a sophisticated template site experience that is grounded in delivering specific business success metrics while keeping site experience consistent, rich and immersive.
* Analyze metrics and data to formulate and execute a calculated architecture approach
* Develop and publish UX Standards and Practices
* Assess business requirements, analyze and reconcile user, business, and technical needs to ensure site solutions accommodate all legal, corporate, technical and partner obligations and policies.
* Create consistent information hierarchies for site navigation on both a system-wide level and a page-by-page or screen-by-screen level, while adhering to design uniformity within and across projects.
* Develop detailed navigation flows, site maps, wireframes and interface design/ functional specifications that capture site processes and all user interaction points with the system.
* Review visual design documents for adherence to usability best practices.
* Partner with technology and creative teams to overlay structured design

Required Qualifications

* 5-7 years experience in Information Architecture for business to consumer and/or entertainment sites
* Comfortable with IA toolkit programs such as Visio and Microsoft office, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, etc.
* Technical background of data delivery and content management systems
* Knowledge of html, dhtml, Flash, Air and Ajax interactions
* User-centric design expertise
* Expertise in usability testing
* Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
* Able to adapt processes and deliverables to project budgets, timing and scope
* Strong creative collaboration skills
* Knowledge of the entertainment industry a plus (focus on family/youth entertainment)
* Strong knowledge of content strategy as it relates to web 2.0 tactics, SEO, analytics, rich media, UGC and community strategies
* Extremely detail-oriented, flexible and able to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment with aggressive development schedules
* Familiarity with conducting or overseeing usability sessions, task analysis, heuristic evaluation, rapid prototyping, and other methods of user needs/ goals analysis

Additional Desired Qualifications

* Hands-on experience with web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc.)
* Experience in media software applications such as Flash
* Experience in storytelling/writing, film or video production, media design, theatre/performance, or physical interfaces for product design
