Mark Logic is looking for a Lead Front End Engineer with a balance of technical and creative skills to join our development team. We’re not simply adding another front end developer – this is a completely new role, at lead/architect level; a ground floor opportunity to lead all UI layer development as we expand our UI product portfolio.
Someone with strong fundamental CS knowledge (data structures, algorithms) is ideal, as is a true passion for user interface development – but most importantly, we need someone with a demonstrated ability to understand both the possibilities and constraints of web applications + large data problems.
We’re excited about the huge opportunities our new products provide to our customers (like Visa, JPMorgan, LexisNexis, JetBlue) – to actually improve transparency and enable better information management.
In this role, you’ll create a set of new products that will redefine application development in key sectors like finance, publishing, and e-government. Come revolutionize how companies run their businesses for the better!
Responsibilities:
- Create brilliant front end solutions for current and future customers (we have about 200 and counting)
- Be all things front-end; drive our UI technical/architecture decisions, be our go-to resource and advisor for others across the company
- Work closely with Director of UX, engineering, product management, and marketing teams to translate aesthetic vision into successful interactive apps
Must Haves:
- Deep experience with [the good parts of] JavaScript
- Proven success in designing and developing great cross-browser web apps (commercial or open source)
- Capable of swiftly moving from a sketch [whether from a napkin, or pixel perfect PhotoShop layout ] to creating an interactive application based on semantic markup, unobtrusive JavaScript and smart use of web standards
- Understanding of end-to-end web architecture, including REST, URI’s and common data formats
- Excels at communicating and collaborating with internal and external communities
Nice to Haves:
- Experience founding a new project and taking to completion or successful launch
- Graphic design skills with software like PhotoShop or Illustrator
