SR. WEB BUSINESS ANALYST
E-Commerce Department
Peapod is an e-commerce grocery shopping/delivery service. We are a wholly owned subsidiary of Royal Ahold and a partner with Ahold USA supermarket companies. As our business continues to grow, so does our team. We are seeking a Sr. Web Business Analyst for our Corporate Office in Skokie, IL.
The primary purpose of this position is to coordinate requirements, application and content development as well as support activities for the web sites managed by Peapod, Inc. This role will work cross-functionally with marketing, technology, content and business professionals.
More specifically, in this role you will:
* Investigate web requests and work with business owners and web teams to determine the exact scope of the request. Gather requirements from subject matter experts and marketing research to define and write functional specifications and process/activity flows. This includes the organization and facilitation of requirement sessions with internal and external parties. Work with Web Engineering team to insure that requirements can be met technically.
* Work with business owners and web teams to understand new initiatives and research possible solutions. Work with Web Product Manager to document solutions and present options, including costs/benefit and recommendation.
* Understand the business needs and functional requirements for each web request. Support technical and QA resources by providing functional expertise during the development and testing phases. Validate that User Acceptance Test results conform to the business and functional requirements.
* Consult with web management to plan and organize project estimates and timelines. Track project progress, ensure accurate time tracking and develop a periodic site status report.
* Work with other IT and customer support teams to define web support processes. Create application documentation for support teams. Provide off-hours 3rd level support on a rotating basis.
* Investigate production issues and identify probable causes. Escalate critical issues or problems to the Web Product Manager. Coordinate activities and resources necessary to implement resolution.
* Work with the Web Analytics team to report on site statistics and traffic. Review customer feedback to identify potential usability issues.
* Conduct periodic competitive site reviews and publish findings and opportunities.
* Support the day-to-day needs of the business owners with regard to content publishing coordination and application support.
* Stay current with new technology and its potential application to on-going business challenges.
Qualified candidates must have:
* Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science or a related field
* 3-5 years experience in web business analysis or web project management
* Experience with full life-cycle custom development including requirements gathering and definition
* Consumer-facing web experience in a professional environment
* Strong Analytical, Testing, and Problem Solving skills
* A disciplined approach to work & good attention to detail
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate detailed information at all levels both internally and externally
* Self-motivation, time management skills & be results oriented
* Ability to successfully manage multiple priorities effectively and efficiently
* SQL and relational database experience
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
