We are currently recruiting for a Corporate Controller in our Corporate Headquarters in Waltham, Massachusetts.
Position Summary:
The Corporate Controller oversees all of Harvest Power's accounting and financial reporting activities. This position involves supervision over financial reporting, general accounting, centralized transaction processing for corporate and all regional sites, as well as internal controls and SOX readiness. The Corporate Controller is responsible for accurate, timely and insightful reporting of the Company's financial results, both internally and externally. He/she will proactively implement a strong control environment, including sound accounting, transaction processing, and reporting practices, policies and systems, mirroring those of a fully compliant public company. The Corporate Controller will lead finance-related transformation projects and will build a high performance accounting team to effectively meet the Company's present and future needs.
Position Essential Functions:
-Own & manage the monthly close and consolidation processes across all Harvest Power sites, including journal entries, intercompany accounting, account reconciliations, consolidated and entity-level statement preparation, analysis and schedules.
-Direct general accounting, fixed asset accounting, inventory/cost accounting, revenue accounting and cash accounting for Harvest Power corporate and all sites.
-Manage centralized transaction processing of all accounts payable and accounts receivable for all Harvest Power corporate and all sites.
-Manage accounting, policies and processes related to stock-based compensation, goodwill, intangibles, impairments, debt/equity instruments. Evaluate and propose accounting treatment for non-standard transactions. Proactively monitor current FASB, IASB and SEC activities and evaluate the impact of adopting new accounting standards
-Provide comprehensive and timely financial reporting to management, the Board of Directors, and other internal and external stakeholders
-Responsible for merger and acquisition accounting, as well as leading accounting integration of all acquisitions.
-Implement and ensure project/program and grant accounting are aligned with project and grant budgets; coordinate financial reporting and audit compliance activities for government grants.
-Coordinate consolidated and entity-level external audits.
-Establish, implement and monitor company-wide accounting policies, transaction processing and reporting practices and systems across geographically dispersed sites. Oversee Sarbanes-Oxley 404 readiness efforts.
-Work with CFO to develop and implement tax and treasury strategies that reduce risk and enhance financial performance
-Recruit and develop world class talent to create a high performance accounting team in a hyper-growth and highly acquisitive environment.
Position Qualifications:
-Requires BA or BS, in Accounting or Finance, plus 10-15 years of relevant experience. MBA preferred.
-Must be CPA
-Previous experience as Corporate Controller for a public company with responsibility for external financial reporting
-Hands-on experience in global and/or multi-divisional business, including management of centralized transaction processing functions.
-Strong technical accounting knowledge, well-versed in US GAAP, SEC reporting and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
-Strong experience with inventory and cost accounting, as well as related accounting process improvements
-Background in both venture-backed private and public companies is preferred.
-Excellent oral and written communication skills.
