Reporting to the CTO and COO, this role is pivotal to the Company and its properties. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can adapt to new challenges and has strong communication skills both internally as well as externally.
Responsibilities include:
- Designing and presenting innovative online
interface concepts based on customer and
stakeholder input.
- Generating written and illustrated
documentation (specifications and
wireframes) detailing functional
requirements and capabilities.
- Developing efficient and maintainable HTML, CSS and JavaScript code for the front-end of dynamic, interactive web applications.
- Applying visual standards into new functional areas.
- Estimating and managing the delivery of assets for significant projects using internal and external design resources.
- Maintaining the highest level of quality as a key member of a cross-functional globally distributed product development team.
- Interacting with third party stakeholders, such as affiliates, partners and end-customers.
Requirements:
- Experience designing complex, highly interactive web sites and software applications
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including articulating creative concepts and the rationale behind them to stakeholders and teammates
- Excellent HTML, CSS, and JavaScript skills with an active knowledge of best practices for flexible, maintainable design and cross-browser compatibility
- Experience in using browser-based UI frameworks to create dynamic, interactive applications
- Experience in using PHP and MySQL
- Experience in configuring and maintaining a LAMP environment
- Experience in customizing and maintaining a large-scale MovableType system
- Experience with Expression Engine
- Knowledge of Flash design and Flash development skills preferred
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly
