The Open Source Technology Center (OTC) within the Software and Services Group is developing Linux-based mobile operating systems and applications with MeeGo, Android and ChromeOS. OTC is looking for Linux software architects in Finland, UK and other European locations who love to write, integrate, and debug code and develop cutting-edge open source applications and operating system components. Positions require positive interaction with the Linux community to ensure code is developed in an acceptable manner and adopted in upstream community projects as appropriate. In this role you must demonstrate a high level of initiative, an ability to assume ownership of major areas, and establish correct technical direction. You must demonstrate flexibility to contribute to multiple areas in a nimble organization. In this role the ideal candidate must be good at problem solving, be motivated and also have the ability to research ambiguous technical challenges.
Qualifications
This is a Linux software architect position. The ideal candidate should have established skills and:

-Experience in leading or maintaining open source projects
-Proven ability as a technical team lead
-Experience designing and developing new APIs for OS components
-A minimum of 6 years experience (or equivalent) in development, platform debug, or product integration in one or more areas listed below:
-OS components, including security, multimedia, device & resource management , multi-touch interfaces, communications, Qt and Qt Mobility
-OS system power & performance optimization
-C++ development
-Qt-based applications for mobile devices
-Proven Linux and Open Source development experience
-Software planning skills (e.g. the ability to create personal development milestones)
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work effectively with team members in different geographies

Minimum Requirements:

The Open Source Technology Center (OTC) within the Software and Services Group is looking for a senior product manager in UK, Finland and other European locations. In this position, you will be responsible for working to deliver a mobile software product which consists of a Linux based mobile operating system (such as MeeGo, Android, or ChromeOS) and applications. The product manager will be responsible for managing the software product and delivering to specific objectives and goals. As a product manager you will provide leadership to the engineering team and will be the key interface for the overall product. The responsibilities include defining/tracking product requirements, creating/tracking the product schedule, identifying tasks, determining dependencies, communicating expectations to team members, assessing risk, identifying and resolving issues and clearly reporting indicators and status of the product. As the product manager you will be responsible for coordinating and communicating with other internal teams as well as key customers on the product requirements, deliverables, and schedule.

Role:
-Define in technical detail product requirements and manage product requirements
-Plan and manage the product to meet specific objectives and planned schedule
-Provide product leadership
-Resolve complex product issues to deliver results
-Create and Track Produce schedule
-Prioritize product features and tasks
-Lead technical meetings between internal groups to ensure delivery of work items
-Identify tasks and determine dependencies
-Identify and assign specific resources, and clearly communicate expectations to team members
-Provide accurate and crisp reporting that highlights product risks and issues
-Monitor progress against schedule and provide indicators vs. product metrics

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- 9 years experience (or equivalent) in product management and software
- Prior experience in bringing a mobile device /phone to market
- 2 years experience (or equivalent) in creating and tracking engineering schedules, using MSFT Project and other tools
- 1 year of Linux and IA knowledge

Preferred Requirements:
-Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Engineering

Skill Requirements:
-Experience in managing/driving a substantial size mobile product and deliverables
-Experience in working with executives and key upper management stakeholders to review product milestones and schedule
-Experience working across multiple groups and stakeholders
-Experience with Agile development and able to embrace and manage change
-Capable of working across multiple organizational boundaries and geographies
-Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
