The Windows Embedded Business (WEB) is responsible for bringing Microsoft technologies into these devices. Given the multitude of partners we work with and devices our products run (Ford Sync, enterprise handhelds, picture frames, set top boxes, media players, thin clients, medical systems, etc…) we have one of the broadest industry exposures of any group in the company. We need your help to build out the next generation platforms, runtimes, and user experiences to power the next billion Windows-powered devices.
The automotive team in WEB is growing. We are partnering with a large car maker to ship a next generation Microsoft in-car experience to millions of drivers around the world. We are passionate about all the scenarios that Microsoft can enable in the car --- and if you are too then come join the team responsible for developing the software powering the more than 3 MILLION Ford Sync and Fiat Blue&Me devices on the road today!
This role will be focused on ensuring a high-quality Hands-free phone communication experience over Bluetooth including call handling, internet browsing ,address book , SMS and calendar download by enabling our automotive customers to create a state of the art hands free phone control application through the use of our software platform.
Responsibilities for this role will include:
Test planning and design
Automated test development for phone features, as well as test tool development aimed at improving test quality and test coverage.
Ad-hocing and finding bugs.
Working with a group of engineers across disciplines and geographical borders.
Collaborating with developers in improving code design and testability.
Basic Qualifications
4+ years experience developing in C/C++
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
Strong Test skills including test planning, writing test specs/cases, debugging /problem solving.
Preferred Qualifications
2+ years of experience testing and developing on embedded devices/platforms.
Hands-on knowledge of the overall product development lifecycle and the software test engineering components.
1+ years experience with testing Bluetooth profiles and stack.
1+ years experience testing or developing embedded device applications
