Our client, a leader in wireless devices for Audio/Video applications, is looking for 1-2 Applications Engineers to join their growing team. The Applications Engineer is responsible for meeting and translating customer needs into guidelines for the development of the products in order to create customer satisfaction. This requires the writing of product specifications for customers in line with the guidelines set by the company, and to translate customer needs into viable solutions that our company can offer.

Requirements and Responsibilities:

Requirements:

A BSEE, MSEE with 5+ years of experience working with advanced wireless technologies. Experience in Audio/Video industry is a plus.

Responsibilities:

This person will work closely with the Director of Innovation to explore, learn and evangelize new concepts adn technologies to the Applications Engineering team (14 people) and hi-profile customers. Basically, "The Face of Innovation" to the company and customers.

Managing and controlling the initial (pre-study/feasibility study) phase of projects until the start of the project and maintaining customer and product management relations and changes throughout the definition and feasibility stages of each project.

Collaborate and discuss new technologies and approaches with technology partners and customers

Interface between the customer and Engineering to define system requirements

Ability to explain key benefits and tradeoffs of various technology platforms

Making general specification document for sales purposes

Cooperate with Cost Management Engineering to calculate unit costs

Cooperate with Sales to develop pricing

Defining features, functions, and requirements for Specification

Managing Engineering and Project/Product Management in initial phase

Create specifications and drive approval process with the customer and Engineering

Manage tasks between Customers, Sales, Engineering and Project/Program Management

Build up customer relationship (Account Management), by having frequent contact with customers with respect to product development, specific/technical customer requirements, etc.

Travel with Sales to customers in pre-production phase in order to assist in selling the technical concept of the product

Assist Sales in translating Product and Software Specifications to the Customer

Global responsibility for helping respond to advanced product RFQs

Train global AE team on technology solutions

Authorization:

Serve as a conduit of communication between customer and internal Engineering

Review product costing from CME and release in quote form

Guide ID group for rendering design of the product when required

Required education and experience:

4 year EE degree with 5-10 work experience in a relevant industry such as set-top box, microcontrollers, RF, etc

Prototyping, technical troubleshooting, firmware downloading, etc.

Work experience with international colleagues or clients

Commercial courses a plus

Required expertise and skills:

Good understanding and communication of engineering principles

A Systems Engineer at Perspecsys is the primary technical resource for the customers during the sales cycle and is the technical leader on the sales team. Systems Engineers are responsible for actively driving and managing the technology evaluation stage of the sales process, working in conjunction with the rest of the sales team as the key technical advisor and product advocate for our solutions. The Systems Engineer must be able to identify all technical issues of assigned accounts, address those issues and to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process. The Systems Engineer must be able to establish and maintain strong relationships throughout the sales cycle and post sale and must be able to articulate technology and product positioning to both business and technical users.
Responsibilities
• development and delivery of product demonstrations
• represent the product to prospects, customers and at field events such as conferences, seminars, etc.
• respond to functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFPs
• drive and support successful customer trials
• design, oversee and manage customer proof of concepts
• define and articulate business value supported by product technical features and functionality

• as required assist the delivery team in the product implementation post sale
• as required assist in account management reviews at existing customers
• maintain relationships that provide technical references for prospects
• development of customer case studies
• ability to travel internationally up to 50% of the time

Qualifications
Ideal candidate must be;
• self-motivated with a proven track record in software sales
• very knowledgeable of enterprise infrastructure, security and RDBMS technology
• comfortable in the dynamic atmosphere of a technical organization with a rapidly expanding customer base and evolving product
• strong in one-on-one communications as well as large group presentation skills
• able to communicate professionally orally and in writing
• organized and analytical
• proven with a track record of trusted customer relationship establishment
• prepared for extensive travel
• with 5+ years of relevant experience in complex software sales
Experience and familiarity of the following:
- Cloud computing technology and marketplace
- Salesforce.com and/or other SaaS Applications from both a business value and technology perspective
- Value based sales models
Technology experience should include
- Linux (Redhat/centOS/Oracle, SuSE, Ubuntu)
- UNIX (Solaris)
- RDBMS – Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server
- Networking – TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, SSL/TLS
- Java programming language
A Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or a related field is strongly preferred
