We are currently seeking a smart, hard-working individual to develop the visual assets of our website. Candidates need not be IT professionals, but must be skilled in visual design, have experience working with software developers and should be intimately familiar with social media platforms such as Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter.

* * This is a contract position. It can be done virtually or through infrequent meetings in Manhattan or Nassau County. The position may require screen sharing or in-person collaboration to refine the visual design of a new social media site. * *

The successful candidate loves working with wireframes and storyboards to create the visual assets that will define the user experience on community-driven websites. This individual is extremely committed and willing to do “whatever it takes” to support the goals set forth, including making proactive recommendations about how to improve the visual layout of pages and the user experience.

Previous experience in this role is required. A strong interest in Personal Growth is a plus.

Profile of the ideal candidate:

• Has a large portfolio of innovative design solutions created for websites

• Has experience developing visual assets from functional wireframe models

• Is able to create an entire visual theme for the site (including visual assets, stylesheets and HTML layout)

• Is highly proficient in Photoshop and Visio/OmniGraffle

• Takes pride in delivering simple designs with a focus on usability

• Has a flexible schedule; can support long hours during crunch times

• Is comfortable and resourceful in high-pressure “Nail biter” situations

• Has a positive attitude and is comfortable with the fluid nature of project requirements in a startup environment

• Has a high level of integrity

• Has the initiative to work independently while maintaining a team focus

• Is a self starter and is self motivated

• Is a natural finisher of projects

• Is humble and willing to do what it takes to help the project succeed
