The Lync team (formerly Office Communicator) is at the forefront of innovation when it comes to Unified Communication. Our most recent release, Lync 2010, was received by the industry with glowing reviews. Our newest client takes a huge step forward towards delivering on our vision by seamlessly integrating instant-messaging, voice, video, IP telephony, conferencing, and application sharing. We are the team in the Microsoft Lync client that is responsible to build user experiences including people and groups, search, presence, social networking, authentication, instant messaging and social/group conversations. We are getting ready to start building the next generation user experience that embraces modern UI design concepts to offer a simple immersive and fluid experience. You will have the opportunity to work side by side with a group of highly motivated team members, to design and implement the next version of the Lync and to develop the immersive user experience using emerging technologies.

To be a successful candidate, you should have a proven track record spanning all aspects of the product lifecycle. You should have a strong passion for designing, implementing and delivering high quality experiences and products that focus on the end user.

Qualification:

Fast learner, self-motivated.

Strong problem-solving and decent debugging skills

Passion for engineering excellence and quality in code & design

Excellent customer focus along with solid communication & cross-group skills

Strong C++ and Win32 programming experience

5+ year of software development experience

Experience of UX development and UX frameworks is not must but highly desired

Expert level knowledge in design patterns is a plus

Experience with Test Driven Development is a plus

BS or MS or PhD in CS or equivalent areas.
