ASSOCIATE WEB DEVELOPER (CULVER CITY)

This is a Temp to Perm Position. The Associate Web Developer builds small to medium-scale websites using XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML, PHP and mySQL, and manages the construction of multiple small projects simultaneously. The Associate Web Developer constructs sites primarily by hand-coding elements with little help from WYSIWYG editors under the direction of a Senior Web Developer and a project Web Producer. An Associate Web Developer is expected to know and understand web standards and best practices and to keep current with emerging technologies. The position is located in Culver City, California.

Responsibilities:

• Build small to medium-scale websites that adhere to current web standards

• Write complex custom JavaScript functions with and without the use of JavaScript Frameworks

• Write complex custom PHP constructs

• Maintain CMS content using custom Administration applications

• Adhere to established standards and procedures in coding and implementation

• Ensure the integration of critical common site elements such as tracking, deep linking systems, global includes, browser control fixes, etc.

• Communicate frequently with project Web Producer in regards to status and needs

• Able to maintain productive workflow of multiple projects at once

• Keep track of hours worked on each project for accounting purpose

Requirements:

• A minimum of 3 years web development experience (preferably entertainment based; prior CMS experience also a plus)

• Expert at debugging cross-browser issues.

• Solid understanding of the web development process, including requirements gathering, design, development tools and technologies, QA and deployment management

• A minimum of 3 years hands-on experience with the following applications: XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML, Photoshop, Flash with experience in Action Script

• Must have basic skills in utilizing Photoshop and Illustrator to manipulate design comps.

• Solid experience using PHP Web application technology

• Experience building dynamic Web applications using mySQL or MS SQL server

• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to meet timelines and work under pressure, self-motivated to work under own initiative

• Strong analytical/problem solving skills, as well as a strong attention to detail and adherence to established standards

• Good oral and written communication skills, as well as ability to present and explain technical and business information in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others, and gains understanding

Desired Skills:

• Understanding of Social Networks and experience using Social Network APIs (Facebook apps, Twitter apps, and Open Social Apps)

• Experience with HTML5 and CSS3
