BP HRO Production Support Analyst - SAP / Hewitt Associates

Primary Responsibilities:

The Techno-Functional Production Support Analyst is responsible for the overall support and delivery of SAP for a given HRO client.

Technical support for Production environments:

• Coordinate and monitor production support activities for on site and off shore personnel.

• Interact with other Hewitt organizational groups (Operations, DBA, etc.) on prod support issues.

• Provide resolution for outages and issues, including primary payroll run support.

• Provide 1st level on call support for batch related issues.

• Responsible for SAP HCM version 4.6C or above, the outputs and interfaces and plays a large role in demonstrating a secured and controlled environment.

• The systems supported serve - Payroll, Benefits and Self Service

• Ensure correct and on-time delivery of all system outputs (paychecks, etc.),

• Responsible for delivering ongoing maintenance (TUBS and cyclic bulletins), production support batch monitoring and break-fix, normal IT support for the HRO operations domains (Annual enrollment, year-end processing etc.), developing minor enhancements to improve operational effectiveness and quality and executing regularly scheduled BC/DR testing.

Off Shore Support:

• Team with vendor off-shore production support and development resources.

Liaison with internal teams:

• Interface with Hewitt's IT organization, including DBA's and Operations.

Consulting with Hewitt/Client Functional team members :

• Define business requirements, determine scope, and identify technical alternatives and limitations for system enhancements and change requests.

• Act as a tech SME to application and architecture functionality

• Code for a broad set of client specific business processes.

• Provide estimates for work effort duration for change requests and new development efforts.

• Knowledge share with ongoing operational teams on the effective use of the apps.

Secondary Responsibilities

Technical Design:

• Translate BRD into high level tech designs.

• Review detailed tech specs created by offshore teams.

• Create detailed tech spec for processes where needed.

• Create prototypes of functionality to share with functional analysts and offshore teams.

Qualifications:

• Work experience in SAP HCM version 4.6C or above

• Strong understanding of the SAP HCM applications, including experience in the PA, Payroll and Benefits disciplines

• Experience supporting a production payroll including integration with various time management systems.

• ESS/MSS integration experience

• The candidate must possess excellent problem solving, decision-making, prioritization and communication skills.

• 4 years of SAP application development experience

• Experience with at least 2 full cycle SAP implementations.

• Working understanding of SAP development tools and implementation strategies.

• Strong project management skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Technical Skills:

• Knowledge of and experience with structured application development principles and methodologies.

• HRMS/Payroll ERP Experience (SAP)

• Strong SQL and RDBMS skills (Oracle, DB2 or UDB)

• Unix (shell scripting, sed, awk etc.) OR Mainframe (JCL, QMF, VSAM etc.)

• Programming experience (ABAP, PL/SQL, Java etc.)

• Experience with enterprise scheduling utilities (Autosys, CA7 etc.)

• Experience working closely with DBAs and Systems Administrators

• Comfortable working in a customized client specific SAP HR system

Experience with Project Management and office tools, including:

• MS-Project

• MS-Office

• Lotus Notes

Education:

• Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems.
