(Anywhere) South Florida Agency is seeking a passionate and experienced freelance Ruby on Rails developer for upcoming and future projects for 2011. We’re a small team of designers, writers and artists who love to create unique customer experiences.Qualified candidates will have a strong background and track record for top-notch Ruby on Rails development, writing stunning code, setting up sustainable development environments and building secure and scalable web apps.While this is freelance, project-to-project position, we’ll be on the lookout for a candidate who will mesh well with our existing team, and who is interested in possibly freelancing with us in the long term.Also: no jerks.Requirements

  • 2+ years of solid Ruby on Rails/MySQL development
  • Awesome with version control systems (Git)
  • Eye for details, and a willingness to take the time to get a project right
  • Knowledge of caching, optimizing and load testing
  • Experience working with large amount of data
  • Experience working on user interaction
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Team player, while...
  • Able to work without supervision. Innovative work ethics encouraged
  • Dedication to meeting client and agency deadlines

Bonus Points

  • HTML5, CSS3 knowledge (but you’ll also be working with a frontend developer and art director)
  • Javascript experience (JQuery)
