This position focused on Network programing which includes experience with (Sockets & Daemons)

Our client is an ecommerce and portfolio site. They manage more than 500 terabytes of online storage and are adding terabytes per month. We are looking for a Senior Software Developer knowledgeable in PHP and with extensive experience in a UNIX-based environment. The developer must be comfortable working with and designing distributed scalable architectures.

Skills:
Design, develop, maintain and optimize secure and scalable multi-tier web applications.
Strong knowledge of PHP, Linux, Apache
SQL (PostgreSQL), Memcached
HTML, CSS, XML
Strong understanding of software development life-cycle and best practices.
Familiarity with both object oriented and procedural programming methodologies.
Experience installing, configuring and maintaining Linux, Apache,
PostgreSQL and PHP.
Experience with C/C++ a plus.
Experience with image processing libraries (e.g. DCRAW, imagemagik, exiftool, nconvert) a plus.
Experience with distributed systems, database design, and high-performance websites all a plus.

Requirements:
5+ years of production programming, with 3+ years in PHP
BS/MS in engineering/science and significant work experience.
Ability to work as part of a close-knit, cross-functional team with both technical and non-technical team members
Must be able to gather requirements, design, code and test independently as well as work jointly with the team.
