Data and Communications Associate (Midtown)

Global, professional association located in midtown Manhattan is looking for a full-time Data and Communications Associate to join our marketing and communications team onsite (we are the principal, not a recruiter). Responsibilities will include day-to-day management of all e-mail communications and two Customer Relationship Management (CRM) databases, as well as proactively identifying and initiating key projects in these areas. The successful candidate will have 1-2 years relevant professional experience (or specific, equivalent academic experience) with customer data management, preferably as part of a SQL or MySQL environment. Experience with one or more e-mail technologies such as MagnetMail, MailChimp, or Constant Contact is a plus. Preference will also be given to candidates with prior experience in Marketing/Communications or IT. SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:

Manage two CRM databases by supporting staff with queries, reports, and data updates when needed, working with an outside vendor to ensure maximum data accuracy, and supporting customers from time to time with profile changes and login issues. Manage e-mail communications, including scheduling, list creation, and analysis. In both areas, identify opportunities for improvement and drive long-term projects to achieve better ROI.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Maintain accurate customer data in two CRM databases by responding to requests for updates and by managing a vendor relationship that keeps data current.

- Initiate and drive projects focused on achieving better marketing intelligence and ROI through data structures.

- Create and maintain reports to address the data needs of internal programs. Analyze customer data and behavior and regularly share updates within the organization.

- Manage the communications calendar, scheduling marketing e-mails within established guidelines and resolving any conflicts that arise.

- Build lists for e-mail sends; modify queries when needed to target very specific audiences.

- Proof e-mails for maximum marketing impact.

- Analyze e-mail performance and trends by program. Initiate and drive projects to improve communications and/or address issues.

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

- An undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Data Analysis, Web/Communications, Online Marketing, Customer Relationship Management or related field.

- A working understanding of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Databases. Experience building reports and modifying database queries.

- Ability to write/modify queries in SQL.

- Experience with one or more e-mail technologies such as MagnetMail, MailChimp, or Constant Contact is a plus, though not necessarily required.

- Experience with HTML and CSS is a plus, though not required.

- Prior association experience a plus. Experience with Avectra’s NetForum Association Management Software a major plus.
