Yoh/Wilmington, DEYoh has a contract to hire opportunity for a Data Warehouse / BI Administrator for IBM Cognos to join our client in Wilmington, DE. For the right candidate this position could become permanent or be a direct hire.  
Job Overview:
You'll be the center of all things IBM Cognos in a high-profile position poised for significant professional growth.  
Job Responsibilities:

- You will perform end-to-end Cognos Administration, including troubleshooting, analysis, system upgraded, fixes, and patches of enterprise Cognos applications,
- Perform requirements gathering, reporting architecture, design, and documentation. 
- Play a key role in designing and customizing architecture of highly innovative IBM Cognos projects.  Perform application software and data reporting process enhancements, change requests, impact analysis, cost and effort estimates.   Learn to write basic SQL, PL/SQL code, stored procedures and packages.
- Analyze Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence Reporting Functional Specs provided by Business Users, then create Technical Specifications to design Cognos solutions, all based on your many years of valuable experience.
- Install, create, and manage the Cognos Application Suite, including ReportNet, Powerplay cubes, Visualizer, and Transformer for enterprise BI Reporting; educated business users in use of ad-hoc jobs that can be run on-the-fly, as needed to provide valuable customer data and support informed decision-making throughout the organization and beyond.
- Design and implement Cognos Best Practices for reporting solutions to meet the information and reporting needs of management and business departments.
- Performance Optimization: Learn to assist in the optimization of Cognos source data (OLAP and OLTP) coming from Oracle PL/SQL and Microsoft SQL Server.
- Support cube development, management dashboards, change management controls, KPI for decision support and exceptions management.

Job Qualifications:

- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science not required, but preferred.  High energy professional with goals and a service-oriented demeanor.
- 3 years Cognos experience (non-exclusive) with application administration and 5 years of experience in Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence reporting.
- Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence database reporting experience in an Oracle environment.  Microsoft SQL 2005/2008 Secondary and not required, but a plus.
- Cognos (ReportNet, Powerplay cubes, Visualizer, and Transformer), XML, UNIX, PL/SQL, FTP, Mercury Quality Center, Microsoft Project Server, CVS, Oracle 11g/10g/9i, TOAD, Microsoft SQL Server.
- Nice to have, but not required: SAP Business Objects or SAP BI with SAS exposure. 
- Experience in handling multiple projects, including some experience as a project coordinator.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong desire to achieve specified goals.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, including experience creating and presenting proposals.
- Knowledge of various SDLC methodologies and familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
- Good team player as well as individual contributor.
