Database Architect - DB2 / Yoh / Indianapolis, IN

Yoh/Indianapolis, INYoh has a contract opportunity for a Database Architect to join our client in Indianapolis, IN.
Job Responsibilities:

- Completes assessment of current DB2 environment
- Suggests and develops data strategy, architecture and procedures for future modernization
- Creates and maintains logical and physical data models of current and future
- Works with current DBA and IOT DBA assisting the project
- Assists ISETS staff with current technical projects
- Employee works in the Information Technology Division, and works at the highest level of all phases of data architecture.
- Employee works under the guidance of the Application Systems Analyst/Programming Supervisor or higher level staff.
- Designs databases for recovery, high availability, performance and maintenance
- Monitors the standards, procedures, integrity and integration of data
- Defines the overall warehouse architecture and standards
- Consults with and makes recommendations to business and technical groups at all levels to define data requirements, evaluate data technology needs, and formulate solutions
- Analyzes data needs and requirements of existing and proposed systems and develop technical, structural and organizations designs and specifications
- Evaluates technology and products to determine the feasibility of adding to agency standards
- Develops work plans for assigned projects and supervises their execution
- Provides guidance and reviews the work of team members on special projects
- Facilitates discussions for long-term planning implementation
- Identifies and explores the potential strategies for long-term planning implementation
- Serves as project lead for software products associated with data
- Works with and provides guidance to information systems personnel or user agencies, for maximum utilization of the agency data
- Performs other related duties as assigned

Job Qualifications:

- Have a strong understanding of DB2 and be able to asses the current status.
- Thorough knowledge of computer hardware/software capabilities and configurations
- Thorough knowledge of database software, database definition languages, data dictionaries, computer programming and testing of programs
- Thorough knowledge of data communications, connectivity and agency used operating systems
- Thorough knowledge of data warehouse, architecture and standards
- Extensive knowledge of the most recent technical developments in the data management field
- Ability to perform logic analysis
- Ability to read and understand complicated technical manuals
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Ability to apply theories, principles and methodologies to existing computer or database software
- Ability to design complex data architectures to support the use of agency data
- Ability to guide and coordinate the work of others
- Must be able to communicate well
