Yoh/Saint Louis, MOYoh has a contract opportunity for a Digital Hardware Engineer to join our client in St. Louis, MO. on their R&D team towards the development of a next generation RFID phased antenna array.
Job Overview:
The Digital Hardware Engineer will design and prototype a cost-effective, manufacturable PCB to replace existing design. In-depth documentation is to be provided along with the design. The tested prototype board will consist of the following high level description:
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist with development of 2nd generation RF Controls Antenna Array product
- Design digital interface board
- Work with production to reduce cost and ensure manufacturability
- Support (help guide) firmware development
- Ensure product conformance with regulatory agencies
Job Qualifications:
- Embedded Controller
- Ethernet input (100 MBit)
- Either POE DC conversion or DC/DC conversion on-board
- Interface with existing 100+ pin board-board connector maintaining signal integrity of existing design
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 10 years in development of digital hardware / software
- In depth-understanding of filtering and signal integrity
- Comfortable in programming C / C++
- Hands on experience in the laboratory
- Troubleshooting w/ hardware
- Benchskills (SMT soldering, part removal, breadboarding)
- Comfortable with test equipment
- Excellent documentation skills required
- Outside of the box thinker
- Experience with POE and Ethernet hardware design
Preferred Job Skills / Experience / Education:
- Atmel embedded controller experience
- Digital PCB Layout design & fabrication
- Experience within RFID field
- Phased Antenna Array design, education, and/or experience
- Digital Circuit board layout experience
- Mixed signal circuit design
