E-Learning HTML Developer (Culver City, CA)
Create HTML-based e-learning course lectures in learning management system (LMS) for online higher education program. Develop HTML templates to match existing graphic design. Convert text-based lecture content and rich media into HTML inside the LMS. Find and prepare images to support the text. Test finished product for operability within multiple browsers and operating systems. Provide quality control for other web projects.
Essential Functions
Develop HTML lecture style sheet and page templates inside LMS based on existing Photoshop layouts.
Upon receiving text-based lecture content, research and prepare graphic assets to support the learning and enhance the visual layout.
Incorporate lecture text, graphics and other provided multimedia assets to build rich online courses with a magazine- or textbook-style look and feel.
Test finished courses for ADA compliance and operability within multiple browsers and operating systems.
Update existing course lectures whenever educational content is revised or new LMS versions are released.
Provide quality control for other web projects.
Adhere to tight project timelines and develop an efficient workflow for producing high volume output with quick turnaround.
Exercise extreme attention to detail and organization, as this role will require the management of many assets within a rigid file structure, as well as strict adherence to design requirements.
Provide consistent, high quality customer service and flexibility for all clients.
Other functions may be assigned as necessary.
Requirements
1-2 years experience working with HTML, building LMS courses or professional websites.
1-2 years professional experience working in a corporate environment.
1-2 years experience using Adobe Photoshop and any HTML editor (such as Adobe Dreamweaver).
Strong proficiency in HTML style sheets, as well as text and graphic layout.
Ability to understand academic content and conceptualize supporting imagery.
Experience using an LMS or having been an online student is highly desired.
Must be a team player with drive, dedication and a positive attitude, someone with a whatever it takes to get the job done approach.
Ability to work independently with little direction, keeping management informed of status and changes.
Ability to define, champion and continually improve course lecture development process.
Attention to detail, organization and creativity on a strict deadline.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Be prepared to show samples of your work and discuss the coding. HTML testing may be required.
