Energy Challenge Month Website Design (Ann Arbor, MI)

The City of Ann Arbor Energy Office (City) is soliciting quotes for web development and hosting services. Specifically, the City would like a website developed separate from the City’s main site that hosts an account registration and management front end for a Perfect Forms data logging website to be used for an Energy Challenge Month in February 2011. The City is also requesting an hourly rate for making modifications to the Perfect Forms site, which can be viewed at: http://app.perfectforms.com/player.htm?f=5xSAggan. The City anticipates adding additional features and undergoing a full design process for the site at a later date under a separate contract, and so building on an adaptable platform or content management system is desirable. With your quote, please include a brief description (two pages maximum) of the proposed content management system and why it would be appropriate for a broader local energy website that may include integrated logging of users’ energy actions (i.e. locally hosting Perfect Forms or an alternative); a reference library of energy information and “how-to’s”; user forums; and the ability for users to upload pictures and/or video.Scope of Work:

  1. Domain name registration (www.a2energy.org)
  2. Web hosting service for 12 months (through calendar year 2011)
  3. Web site development, including:
  • Overall graphic design for website
  • Account management module for Perfect Forms (to redirect users to their individual Perfect Forms pages), including the ability for users to associate their account with a group
  • Ability for city staff to update content (blog format acceptable)
  • Training of three city staff to add and manage content of the website
  • Reporting of data from Perfect Forms

Alternate #1: Please provide an hourly rate for Perfect Forms development work.Timeline: Registration module will need to be online January 10, 2011 with Perfect Forms launched publicly on February 1. Yes, this is a tight timeline.
