FamilySearch: Freelance Web Designer

Familysearch.org is a non-profit website dedicated to helping people around the world learn about their family history. We are looking for exceptional web designers who can help us improve familysearch.org. You’ll need to accurately access a given set of needs, design a high-quality solution that fits effectively into the overall familysearch.org experience and work with a development team to implement your designs. If you have the skills, come help us do some good!
Remote workers are welcome. We may ask for some onsite time, but we’ll cover any travel costs if that is necessary.
Applying candidates must have each of the following:

  • Exceptional web-focused interaction design skills
  • Strong visual design skills
  • Ability to conduct needs analysis and define requirements
  • Ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to lead through influence
  • A relentless drive for results
  • A portfolio of solid and proven work

Exceptional candidates will have one or more of the following:

  • The ability to rapidly create web standard HTML/CSS prototypes
  • Experience creating localized, global websites or web applications
  • Experience working on large-scale, multi-million user websites.
