We are looking for a talented highly creative and artistic layout designer and web designer for our online fashion and culture magazine. The ideal candidate is interested in layout design, art, font design and has an international flair. Experience at a fashion portal, indie fashion magazine or print publication is a plus. A beautiful portfolio of work is a must with RELATED work in this field (fashion + culture), experience with identity creation also a plus. Telecommuting is ok for this post. The ideal candidate can start freelance and move into a permanent position as our Art Director. A passion for photography and experience with fashion photography, still life photography also a plus. Interest in user design for ipad and iphone, nook color is also essential. This is an opportunity for a junior level or experienced designer to take their work to the next level and make their mark in this space online. Simple is beautiful and visual art, typography is everything. We cover fashion, culture, world news, essays/literary, travel, kid culture, eco, film, and music with an indie avant garde approach for readers in NY, Paris, London, Tokyo etc.
