Front-end Developer Needed for Innovative Social Networking Startup (SoHo)
Job Description
If you're a client-side application developer (HTML, CSS, JS), with an understanding of server-side application development using Java/Tomcat - and you're looking for a broad palette at a New York tech startup, then this is the ideal job for you.
We use back-end technology such as MongoDB, Spring Remoting, and SOA using RESTful Web Services. You'll work on a niche social networking platform. You'll be on the front lines of creating beautiful and rich user interactions and experiences for users.
Compensation includes competitive salary, and equity. Given the nature of this job, it will be very competitive, but we will take a serious look at all applications and get back to you quickly.
The office is at the NYU-Poly Varick Street Incubator at and has a bevy of resources available through NYU and its vast relationship.
Skills & Requirements
* JSP, JavaScript Frameworks, CSS3 and HTML.
* HTML5 Development: We want innovative HTML5 to be a core piece of our users' experience and we're pixel perfect about our user experience.
* Evaluating New Technology: Being nimble requires taking advantage of new technologies. You need to be able to evaluate a library or service for use on our site based on: maturity, maintainability, portability, etc.
We're interested in extraordinary people from any background (formal education is not required), but most importantly you are:
Intellectually and professionally nimble: able to take on a variety of independent workstreams in a leadership role. The ability to take ownership of a task is critical.
