Lead Software Engineer & CTO needed to build a stealth start-up
site called The G Project - The 21st Century Market™, and to lead a team
of four near Columbia University's main campus in Manhattan. About the Opportunity:
As
The G Project's first Lead Software Engineer & CTO, you will be
joining us on the ground floor to build the site correctly from its
inception; the site's user-interface is simple, but it has a complex and
ambitious back-end. This is a rare opportunity to play an integral part
in a company has the potential to become the world's largest
marketplace for small-scale commerce, and, in the short-term, improve
lives, and make a positive social and economic impact.  This is a
hands-on position, initially, but over time will become more of a
management role.  The website most comparable to The G Project is eBay,
however, 'G' is not an auction site, and this comparison is relevant on
the back-end in as much as 'G' embodies monetary transactions. (Patents
are pending).Benefits:

The Successful Candidate has:

  • A recent track record of developing a site with comparable characteristics
  • Experience leading development teams
  • Successfully managed scalability issues for a site that experienced significant growth within 3-5 years
  • A solid architectural understanding of market/trading infrastructure

  • Experience with a start-up
  • A mastery of various programming languages, including, but not limited to:
