IT Administrator/Webmaster

International nonprofit organization seeks full-time IT Administrator/Webmaster for its Los Angeles location. This position is primarily responsible for the IT management of the office and overseeing work of staff and/or vendors on IT-related issues. Webmaster responsibilities, although secondary to this position, may take up more of the employee’s time at an estimated 60 percent of the workweek.

IT duties include:

• Managing office networking/Internet/intranet/e-mail/telephone/voice mail systems and accounts, coordinating with vendors—including Web, network, e-mail, intranet, telephone service, and QuickBooks providers—on upgrades, troubleshooting, account changes, new accounts for new hires, etc.

• Overseeing maintenance of office equipment, including computers and software, printers and fax machines; ensuring that company assets are maintained responsibly.

• Securing networks, both wireless and hardwired; handling off-site storage; overseeing network security for mail servers and merchant accounts; overseeing backup systems, archiving, off-site procedures, disaster recovery, etc.

• Anticipating future network needs, working proactively to provide solutions.

• Assisting with development of organization's intranet system and training staff on using the system.

• Managing/overseeing help desk to resolve staff's IT-related issues in a timely manner.

• Working with COO to manage IT-related purchases and budget.

• Managing inventory list of software, computers, printers, fax machines, and other office equipment.

• Communicating any IT-related issues/updates to management and staff in a timely manner.

Webmaster duties include:

• Creating new and managing existing Web site pages, ensuring that all pages/sites are branded appropriately.

• Monitoring and analyzing Web traffic statistics via Google Analytics.

• Creating and managing Web site graphics and animation, including Flash animations and online flyers, brochures, postcards, and posters.

• Managing weekly e-mail blasts of organization's newsletter, supervising/training staff to assist with e-mail blasts.

• Managing video log library and digital image library.

Other duties include:

• Assisting with production of print materials.

• Providing general administrative support to the Marketing Department.

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience with/knowledge of networking systems and equipment.

• Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as: information systems technology, computer science or graphic design or equivalent experience required.

• Demonstrated experience in managing Web sites and the production of video and printed materials.

• Minimum of two years of experience working in a professional environment.

• A self-starter, with the ability to delegate tasks and assignments. Works well independently while also being a strong team player.

• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Flash, Acrobat).

• Proficient in XHTML and CSS.

• Experience with content and data management systems.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

• Comfortable in both Mac and PC platforms.
