Java Software Developers / TriStaff / san diego, CA

TriStaff/san diego, CATriStaff is partnering with a highly profitable San Diego-based company in a billion dollar software space. Due to growth, they are hiring “rock star†quality Java developers for a company that values highly motivated individuals, who are looking for an opportunity to grow their career in development. This is a rapidly growing organization that is highly focused on having happy employees and happy customers. Depending on your background, you can focus on the core backend database, or on the frontend UI that involves best practices for usability and UX. A chance to build a unique framework, rather than using an off-the-shelf library for a SaaS delivered product.

Opportunity:
You will join a great development team and have the opportunity to be mentored by senior staff. The successful candidate will enjoy a generous earning potential and the chance to expand their role in the company as they grow, as well as the exceptional experience of working directly with a sophisticated customer of their software. This is a unique opportunity to interface directly with customers to hear what they really want, not just what is filtered through the eyes of a project manager. Thus, you will have a real impact on the product and the company's success! They are looking for the type of people who can make an impact!

Depending on your interests, you can work on:
1. frontend GUI and update graphics or texting services;
2. backend core functions including database, security, API's, and extensibility; or
3. systems level networking with protocols such as SNMP.

Work Environment
Our client is proud of being a dynamic and rapidly growing software company with a strong sense of dedication to our customers. They work hard but try not to take ourselves too seriously. This is a very collaborative and inclusive work environment where individuals strong on aptitude and attitude will have an opportunity to grow their professional careers through working with some of the most advanced technology and talented developers in the business. They provide competitive compensation, generous benefits and a professional yet relaxed atmosphere.

If you want to work under a VP who believes in the value of putting software engineers in touch with customers to directly hear their needs without the filter of a product manager; and a VP who has built a bright team in San Diego without using off-shore talent … this is the spot for you! Because this VP hires the best, they are able to produce more than groups that are triple their size! These are bright people who like working with other bright people, but without large egos.

Stock options will be part of the offer package by this highly profitable company! Please send your resume in confidence to Amy Moser as a Word attachment.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Someone whose Java / J2EE skills have made a difference to a company's product! My client is seeking those who are the cream in every group and are motivated to see their contribution recognized.
• Proven Web software development experience with a commercial product, not for internal IT use.
• Strong Java programming skills with web-based development, including latest Java and Open Source tools like Spring, Hibernate, Struts, etc. This job would be attractive to someone whose passion is keeping up with technology and who reads voraciously. It's important that you not only can use many tools, but know why you're using them. My client is looking for people who “think†and are not robots.
• If your passion is working on the backend or middle tier, your knowledge of relational databases and SQL is imperative.
• If your passion is working on the front end UI, you must have an eye for aesthetics and innovative ideas, along with work experience with Java, HTML, XHTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript, and AJAX. Your challenge will be designing UI's for a variety of access points (desktops, mobile devices) for graphical displays, wiki formats, numerical data, or longer text.
• If your passion is digging into the guts of SNMP, you could work on the functions that map networks for IT professionals to remotely “see†the status of a network at all times.
• Must have a personal commitment to quality, because you will test your own software and support it.
• This would be attractive to developers who like to take “ownership†of what they produce.
• Interest in dealing with customers and end-users to understand their point-of-view.
• A fundamental understanding of IT service management and the ITIL business process would be very helpful.
• Must be willing to do both architecture design and hands-on coding.
