We are seeking a Consultant/Developer on behalf of our established and growing Software Consulting client to work in their Search & Information Discovery practice to develop tailored solutions using cutting edge web development tools and technologies.

Your experience with a broad range of web application development tools and techniques including Weblogic, JBoss and other web application server technologies will be an essential asset. A history of successfully integrating web apps with back-end systems, coupled with knowledge of SOAP and XML, as well as experience with user interface development and deployment will also be important attributes.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Apply your excellent communications skills, creativity and practical knowledge to benefit our clients
• Interact directly with partners and clients as you successfully contribute to integration and development initiatives
• Efficiently implement clean, maintainable, testable software
• Maintain clear communications with all stakeholders throughout project lifecycles

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
You should fulfil most of the following requirements:
• University degree/diploma in computers, engineering or equivalent training/experience
• At least 3 – 5 years designing/implementing interactive, data-intensive internet applications
• Experience with Web Services (including SOAP, XML, XML Schema, and/or REST)
• Solid understanding and experience with Java and J2EE/Java EE (including servlets, JSP, JSF, JDBC)
• Solid understanding and experience with Java frameworks and libraries such as Struts, Spring, JUnit, Ant, Groovy on Grails, Apache Jakarta libraries (Commons Lang, Commons Collection, Commons BeanUtils, etc…)
• Experience with one or more of the following Java EE application servers: Weblogic 8.x/9.x, JBoss 4.x, Tomcat 5.5/6.x, Websphere 5.x, Apache 2.x, IIS 6/7.x
• Experience with ORM frameworks such as Hibernate, JPA or JDO is not necessary but desired
• Experience with one or more of the following RDBMS: Oracle 10g, MySQL 5.x, SQL Server 2005/2008 coupled with a solid understanding and experience with SQL
• Solid understanding of object-oriented principles and ability to think at various levels of abstraction
• Fully fluent in both written and spoken English with good written and verbal communication skills
• Scripting Languages: Python, Shell scripts
