Junior/Intermediate Interaction Designer (Union Square)
Interested in doing work that is good for the soul? Were a non-profit organization whose mission is to transform public sector services through technology. We have two positions open for experienced interaction designers with strong UX/design skills.
As an interaction designer on our team, you will have the opportunity to shape and prototype the user experience for our service. Were looking for someone who has a balance of great design skills and great prototyping skills to work in a collaborative and multidisciplinary environment.
Specific attributes include:
- 2-5 years of interactive design experience. Your portfolio must include examples of live sites and/or digital work that has gone to market, preferably with examples of web-based applications.
- Strong communications and problem-solving skills.
- Robust IA skills, including development of wireframes and flow diagrams.
- Experience with user research and usability testing.
- Expert knowledge of standard design and prototyping tools, from Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, PhotoShop, InDesign) to Flash to HTML.
- Competency in front-end development (at minimum, CSS, HTML, jQuery); knowledge of Ruby on Rails a plus
