What We Need:

We are in immediate need of a back-end developer highly proficient in Python. Direct Django experience is preferred however we will consider candidates with one or more modern MVC framework experience such as a Sr. Rails and Ruby or Perl Developer.

If you have a passion for technology and thrive in a highly entrepreneurial environment this is the job for you. As part of our development team you will be collaborating with other developers on the team to enhance, maintain, troubleshoot and fix issues that arise with current applications.

The ideal candidate will be a technically competent, hands-on self starter with strong communication skills. He/she must thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Our ideal candidate is a really good generalist, detailed oriented, precise and practical about solving and managing everyday engineering challenges. This is a full time position and you must be able to work on-site.

You should have a solid understanding of Python and Django or other modern MVC framework. We would like to see code samples that demonstrate the above. Please keep your code DRY as possible. You should have a working knowledge of git or similar DVCS (we use git and github.com for our projects). Ideal candidate will enjoy working in a team environment.

What To Expect:

You should be comfortable in a *NIX environment and should have experience deploying production sites. We use Ubuntu 10.4 LTS, Nginx/Apache/modwsgi, PostgreSQL and Django 1.2.x as our default deployment environment for new projects, so you'll be working with the latest and greatest. We do our best to have weekly developer meetings where we discuss new technology and how it might fit into our deployment stack, sharing best practices, etc. We encourage contributing back to the open source community.

Nice To Have:

Familiarity with Satchmo, django-cms, Haystack and the Django reusable app eco-system in general. Any sysadmin skills you can bring to the table would be a definite plus (installing, configuring and troubleshooting our deployment stack).
