Job Summary/Purpose
lululemon athletica is seeking a talented designer who will "own" the online visual presence of the company. You will be the creative/design resource that connects lululemon online and the stores. Successful candidates will become key members of a creative team that is focused on supporting all graphic design challenges within the company.
The Lead Web Artist works on various project teams to conceptualize, develop and produce all visual assets for online use. You will work on building style guides for lululemon online, develop and prototype new interfaces, and work closely with photographer’s to translate their photos into different areas of the website. You will be the integral part of the creative process, overseeing projects from conceptualization to production. You will work to actively assist in improving the usability, usefulness, and desirability of lululemon’s applications as part of the Creative Services Team and the Online Community Team.
Responsibilities
• Lead the online art team and work in conjunction with artists in other areas
• Be a creative spark that defines new projects to build lululemon online
• Own lululemon’s online branding guidelines
• Work closely with usability team members, product managers, development/art teams and other internal stakeholders to build storyboards, proof-of-concept mockups, demos and prototypes of proposed and planned lululemon applications and features.
• Collaborate in the definition of user interface design standards for lululemon applications, to optimize ease-of-use and achieve an integrated and consistent look and feel.
• Conduct ongoing research of web-based user interface development best practices.
• Take the season’s inspiration and animate it for online use
Required Skills & Qualifications
• 5 years of experience in web design / ui development
• 5 years of experience using the Adobe graphics suite
• Fluency with web standards and technologies
• Knowledge of usability and coding practices for accessibility
• Strong web graphics production capability and experience with Flash, Visio and other mockup tools
• Experience with methodologies such as Iterative development Agile, RUP, and Lean
• Creative approach to problem solving, innovation and issue resolution
• Superior interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate actively and proactively with others in a cross-functional team
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing, verbally and as a presenter
• Self-motivated and self-managed with a high degree of analytical ability and intellectual curiosity
• Strong attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering highly polished web-based prototypes under tight time constraints
