Job Description:
This position reports to the Director Controlling-Special Projects and
is responsible for the creation and ongoing maintenance of the U.S.
Animal Health customer master database– which includes approx. 40,000
Companion Animal and mixed practice (CAP & FAP) active accounts.
Additionally, the manager is responsible for the AHI EDI Special
project and systems, (an industry wide data management initiative).
Incumbent is responsible for guiding the computer-to-computer
communication between Sales Agents/Distributors and Bayer Animal Health.
This job is fundamental in positioning Bayer Animal Health as an
industry leader in the field of Electronic Commerce. The incumbent is
also responsible for critical compliance issues by assuring that FDA
controlled products are sold only to customers with a licensed
veterinary on staff and that customers are properly maintained for
purposes of rebates, commissions and sales incentives and other
marketing spiffs eligibility totaling approx. $40mm annually.

MAJOR TASKS/RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
1. Ensure compliance with FDA Regulations, Bayer Policies and other
external agency regulations in terms of the sales / distribution of
controlled products through the diligent control and maintenance of the
Customer Master records in SAP.
2. Ensure Customer Master records are established and maintained
appropriately so that various financial compensation programs are
calculated and distributed properly, e.g., customer rebates, price
discounts, commissions, sales incentive compensation.
3. Manage the Electronic Commerce function handled by 4 Electronic
Commerce Reps (ECRs). The Electronic Commerce group is responsible for
the Bayer Animal Health Customer Master Database. They are also
responsible for correcting purchase orders and point of sale invoices
that are transmitted electronically by Sales Agents and Distributors to
Animal Health via EDI maps.
4. Manage the communication network related to sales in the Electronic
Commerce venue. This position works in concert with the Information
Technology department and an industry wide organization ensuring that
communication links remain up and running. This person acts as a
principle contact with the data cleansing providers to determine
alternative ways to transmit data.
5. Coordinate Bayer Animal Health's activities regarding the
industry-wide initiative of electronic commerce – Bayer primary contact
for Animal Health Industry (AHI) EDI project.
6. Responsible for timely, accurate and concise management reporting
concerning compliance, account growth and overall customer activity.
7. Review ICS compliance reports for Electronic Commerce on a routine
basis and take appropriate corrective actions where necessary.
8. Active team member in the analysis and implementation division wide
marketing programs: Assess feasibility; make recommendations based on
system compatibility, ease of implementation, and customer comprehension
regarding pricing, terms and promotional items.

Candidates Must Have:

Requires a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 6 or more years experience in customer service or corporate logistics department where exposure to transportation, warehousing, import/export or order entry has occurred.

The ability to supervise and motivate individuals is a requirement with a minimum of 2-4 years successful supervisory experience.

The position requires strong organizational and communication skills, time management and a proven application of computers and mainframe systems.

Incumbents must also be proficient in negotiation and influencing skills.
The ability to work in an accurate manner with statistical data and computer systems is paramount.

Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet micro-computer applications is also essential.

Experience with FDA regulations

The ability to effectively communicate is very important to this position, so these complicated activities can be communicated to Bayer and agent management, sales personnel and with others in the industry.
