Media Giant seeks Product Owner/Scrum/Agile Methodology (Downtown)
Media Giant located in SoHo seeks a Product Owner for an immediate long term contract position. This role works with product management, technology, and engineering to deliver ROI on product development.
Working with teams in various agile configurations, the Product Owner is responsible for the ROI of development on specific products and projects. Working closely with Product Managers, Scrum Masters, Project Managers, analysts and development teams this person must have an excellent grasp of business strategy and be able to use that knowledge to make rapid tactical and technical decisions. The role will prioritize release cope and dates, help write user stories and scenarios, maintain and communicate the backlog for specific products and projects, prioritize stories according to their business value and technical effort, contribute to the global backlog, aggregate input from users, stakeholders and others, participate in Sprint and Project meetings, Scrum of the Scrums, Agile retrospectives and process improvements, monitor and report on progress, accept or reject the teams' output, and make constant adjustments to backlogs to fit strategic and tactical objectives.
Responsibilities:
-Works with product management, UX Design and technical teams to decompose business stories into system level stories and/or technical designs
-Manages and prioritizes the iteration and defect backlogs to ensure they are in line with the company's global business objectives
-Mange the teams' iteration and cross-project tasks and dependencies
-Drives iteration and release objectives
-Tracks and reports on internal cadence and delivery of product development projects and prints
-Provides day-to-day tactical objectives, and quick JIT decisions to system level questions and defect triage
-Drives acceptance testing
-Delivers iterations
Requirements:
-Excellent project delivery skills, with at least 5 years experience participating in successful engineering projects
-Excellent communication and technical skills
-Must have proven work experience as a technical "influencer"
-Scrim or XP process-like experience in organizing and motivating teams to succeed
-Experience with offshore agile projects
-Ability to juggle multiple projects and work in a dynamic and flexible environment
-Experience working with Agile teams (Scrum, XP, Pragmatic Marketing, etc.)
-Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related area is preferred.
