National Association of County and City Health Officials: Web Specialist

Location: Washington, Dist. Columbia

The National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO), a national organization representing approximately 3,000 local health departments (LHDs) nationwide, has an opening for a Web Specialist. The Web Specialist is an integral part of Information Technology Department on Team I. The successful candidate will have 1-4 years of Microsoft Office SharePoint Server administration experience. Some experience in SharePoint Designer, ASP.net, ColdFusion, and netFORUM is preferred. Problem-solving skills are a must, as is the ability to juggle multiple priorities.  

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
The Web Specialist position is a member of the Team Four. The Web Specialist contributes to the advancement of local public health practice by performing a range of responsibilities related to NACCHO’s Intranet and Extranet web sites. The Web Specialist key accountability is to maintain and improve NACCHO’s SharePoint sites. Other responsibilities include web page creation, maintaining and updating Web pages, ensuring consistency in the format of site pages, providing technical support to staff on site revisions, and other duties as assigned.

NATURE OF WORK
This is a professional position requiring excellent analytical, interpersonal, and technical skills. The work involves partnerships with fellow staff and occasional collaboration with LHDs. The work also requires the exercise of extensive discretion and independent judgment.

WORK DUTIES MAY INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Provides support and assistance to SharePoint users.
  • Work closely with consultants and IT staff on the implementation of development in SharePoint sites.
  • System maintenance responsibilities include the following:

      o   Site creation and management
      o   List creation and management
      o   Web part addition, configuration, and removal.
      o   Master page and theme application
      o   Permission management
      o   Site ownership management.

  •  Performing other duties as assigned.

 Employment Standards

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred with a minimum of two years relevant experience, but will consider candidates with the combination of experience and training that provides requisite skills.
 
Knowledge

-Intermediate level of proficiency in ASP.Net
-Knowledge of web publishing
-Knowledge of Active Directory
-Knowledge of netFORUM
-Knowledge of ColdFusion 
-Preferred: Experience working in an association environment.
-High level of proficiency in content management systems
-High level of proficiency in HTML
-High level of proficiency in Microsoft SharePoint
-High level of proficiency in Adobe Fireworks
-High level of proficiency in Adobe Photoshop
-High level of proficiency in Adobe Acrobat
