We are seeking a motivated individual with a passion for managing systems and networks. The SaaS Operations team supports the development process and scalability of Rally's SaaS Agile Life-cycle Management tool. This software carries over 2,100 customer accounts, 58,000 projects, and 96,000 users across 60 countries and is growing exponentially. The team works closely with Software Engineering in an empowered, collaborative manner determining the next generation of technology needed to scale this fast growing, continuous release environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Administrating, monitoring, and maintaining Rally's on-demand production and demo systems.
• Implementing, and maintaining state-of-the-art computer hardware.
• Perform production system upgrades and patches.
• Assist with production system security policies and audits.
• Evaluate current and future system performance, and enhance system operations and data processing capabilities.
• Configure and deploy network technologies including but not limited to: Cisco firewalls, IPS, routers, and switches. (VLANs, port bonding, fail-over redundancy, intrusion prevention).
• Rotating On-call availability to service a highly redundant and reliable production system.
• Participation in high-stakes foosball, ping-pong, Wii games, and/or billiards tournaments.
Required Qualifications:
• 3+ years of Linux operations experience with prior SaaS or Web application experience a plus.
• Detailed and methodical nature when executing product system installations, migrations, maintenance, and upgrades.
• Ability to document changes and procedures for all systems.
• Technical problem solving skills.
• Strong communication skills.
• Linux scripting skills.
Additional Qualifications:
• Experience with the following is a plus:
o VMware
o iSCSI SANs
o Nagios or similar
o Cacti or similar
o Puppet or similar
o Experience with a 3-tiered web architectures on RedHat or Centos, Jetty/Tomcat, Oracle (10g or 11g), or similar systems.
• Thorough knowledge of NCAA bracketology, World Cup draws, and setup of Internet video feeds.
