The Volume Licensing Solution Delivery organization is responsible for working with business partners to define solutions and lead programs that provide the most value for our customers, partners and Microsoft. We are seeking an experienced and passionate Principal Solution Manager with significant experience in SAP technologies who will be responsible for delivering some of the next generation solutions for the Volume Licensing transaction processing platform. The Microsoft Volume Licensing business is responsible for half of Microsoft’s annual revenue. The systems that support this business are outdated and will be updated or replaced in concert with the introduction of new offerings from the business. We are looking for candidates that have experience in defining, leading and delivering results on this scale.

In this role, you will be responsible for partnering closely with the business and engineering teams to develop and define a business case and corresponding solution strategy. You will lead that implementation for IT, working across multiple organizations and stakeholder groups to realize the stated objectives and benefits of the program. This is a senior individual contributor role and you must be able to manage without authority and partner to obtain results. You will be required to use your SAP expertise to shape solutions of the future and map to business needs.

Key Responsibilities

Working with stakeholders to define program vision/scope

Driving business case creation and securing funding

Create solution design based on deep knowledge of SAP functionality and solution maps; integrate SAP components of solution strategy with custom extensions as necessary

Create detail solution requirements to represent business needs and input into the technical design and build phases of the project

Defining program implementation strategy & multiyear roadmap to realize business value

Managing benefit/cost definition and performance

Ensuring vision/scope strategies are realized in project delivery

Leading the program implementation across multiple IT teams

Work with groups such as Enterprise Architecture and VL Architecture to establish the right solution architecture for the program

Review and validate technical solution designs map to architecture patterns and models as established for the program; Ensure close adherence to standards and out of the box best practices in design and configuration.

Enabling and supporting change management

Building and maintaining strong and collaborative cross group relationships and partnerships

Establish and manage expectations for delivery and benefit realization across stakeholders

Representing the program to senior leadership across business and IT

Requirements:

Strong candidates should have a BA/BS in Business, Computer Science, or Information Systems (MBA desirable)

Minimum 7+ years of work experience in program/project management, business or systems analysis, functional and technical design leadership or a combination of equivalent work-related experience and training.

Significant experience with process analysis and transaction processing systems strongly desired.

Must have significant experience with SAP and custom build development environments. A rich (breadth and depth) experience with SAP modules (primarily SD) is essential.

Must have experience using SAP to solve Licensing related business problems in the software and services industry

Experience with industry standard methodologies for SAP implementations strongly desired

Must have a track record on time, on schedule delivery that meets business needs.

Able to adapt to changing business needs and requirements, and be familiar with structured software development and software implementation processes.

Must have strong oral and written communication skills coupled with the ability to interact with a broad range of customers and executive, management, and operational levels.

Strong analytical skills and ability to translate from ambiguity into well formulated strategy and processes a must.
