Private Online Community for Creatives - Community Manager (Tribeca)

BML Editions is a multi-dimensional organization, launching a private social network in Summer 2011 and we're looking for a talented, pro-active, experienced Community Manager who is interested in the Creative Class.

Our members are part of a new generation of women who are holistic, eco-conscious, socially-aligned and members of a creative free agent class. This is a private online community that requires a Manager with discerning tastes and experience, interest and knowledge of trends affecting women in our niche today. Our members are from the music, arts, publishing, fashion, new media, fine arts, design, nonprofit, yoga, and entrepreneurial worlds.

The ideal Community Manager is a Rock Star leader with an indie spirit, who gets the art + power of community both online and off line - is interested in working within an innovative creative team who wants to push the boundaries and innovate, collaborate with new technologies and features, and establish a powerful portal that will function more like a culture and social movement and less like another facet of new media.

Responsibilities include:

Serving and expanding the online community and finding discerning ways to engage our members. Membership is by invitation only. The idea Community Manager understands the why and the how of building a powerful community based on degrees of seperation and has a focus on global growth rather than US-centric growth. We will start with NY and key cities in US and simultaneously engage Europe and Asia's key cities where our niche is concentrated. Regularly posting content (in tandem with our editorial team) and generating engaging questions for forums, topics of conversation, and other challenges that will engage our creative members and foster participation and ownership. Working with our video production team on strategy, and aligning all of our social media presences. Building strategic relationships with blogs and other online + offline communities. Someone who is passionate and on top of the latest technologies, features, trends in new media and has an interest in community building. You will also be responsible for reporting member behaviour, directly interact with members daily, manage promotions (working with our Marketing and Advertising Department), keep track of trends and interests of our members, track hot-button issues and monitor and respond to praise and complaints. Also responsible for implementation of social media promotions, and some digital production.

If you are forward-thinking, already get the Creative Class and find yourself brimming with ideas and visions for our community just in reading this post - then we want to hear from you!

Please send resume. Must have at least 2 years relevant experience with Community Management of a social network. Have you read The Art of Community?
