The Production Support Analyst is a Systems Analyst role requiring extensive experience (minimum 5 years)  in large-scale product development and/or custom applications development, and systems integration.  This role has exposure to a wide range of applications involving different system development environments and technology platforms.  This role requires strong methodology knowledge & experience in all phases of the systems development life cycle, with particular emphasis on requirements/analysis, design, and testing.  Data modeling experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

- Gather application requirements from users and subject matter experts, and prioritize required features to possibly contain scope.  Create Business Requirements Documents, review them and get approval from responsible parties.

- Translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications as input to design and development.  Capable of understanding technical details/impacts of detailed requirements. Capable of creating logical table structures to support the requirements.

- Provide support to the development team during the development phase of the project.

- Provide support to the test team by creating high-level test scenarios, reviewing detailed test scripts, and analyzing problem reports.

 - Oversee creation of new  interfaces and/or enhancements to existing interfaces as deemed necessary by client requirements. Ensure all required data is available in the data store as needed to support such interfaces.

- Maintain frequent communication (oral & written) with client teams and HA workstream leads on all projects. Participate in meetings as required

- Create business requirements (BRD) functional specs (FSD) and high level technical design documents (HLTDD) for new interface development.  Ensure existing documentation is kept up to date as requirements change and keep all documentation posted in myTeam. As necessary, work with client & HA teams to complete new Service Requests (SR), and Change Requests (CR).

- Conduct data analysis as required to assist client & HA teams with decision-making and/or trouble-shooting. This includes writing/running SQL and using tools such as Excel and Access to identify data inconsistencies, trends, etc.

- Provide support to workstream test coordinators as necessary for new interface development. Test all changes to production interfaces prior to implementation.  Oversee QA testing (BRD walk-thru, approve test scripts, etc.). Test all changes to production interfaces prior to implementation.

Qualifications:

Basic SQL skills to research data issues (strong SQL skills for comp)

SAS/JCL/IBM Mainframe

Java

Unix - Good understanding of basic unix functions including unix file permission's,  navigating  unix directories, and submitting shell scripts.

Oracle Database  - Working knowledge of SQL for insert, update, and deletes. Working knowledge of DDL for trigger, table, index, views, and synonym generation.

PeopleSoft  - Underlying table structure for  more common tables CDS uses... ps_job, PS_JOBCODE_TBL, etc..

Working knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (ie. Requirements, Dev, Testing, Roll-out)

Experience writing functional specs (good communication skills)

Problem-solving / Analytical skills (particularly for creating BRDs/FSDs and really understanding what the client wants)

Effective written and oral communication skills. 

Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities

Ability to multi-task and work in fast paced environment

Self starter (ability to work independently)
