Join our dynamic and entrepreneurial Kaplan Live Online team as the Manager, Event Programming as we continue to push the limits on the caliber of programming Kaplan delivers live over the internet. This is an opportunity to manage and enhance the online events Kaplan hosts each year. Kaplan utilizes the latest online collaboration technology to broadcast these events across time zones and borders, thereby extending the platform on which these events are delivered.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
The Manager, Event Programming will ensure the successful management and delivery of each event. The core responsibilities include:
- Concept Development - work with other Kaplan business units to determine the optimal timing, content, and delivery format to host each event.
- Requirements Gathering - understanding the expected demand, production details, participant interaction, and talent support necessary to execute each event.
- Scheduling - collaborating with the business units, talent managers, technology team, and production team to manage the scheduling of events.
- Project Management - determine the appropriate timeline for the optimal event delivery. This will include assisting with the marketing plan, managing the talent, coordinating with the production team, acquiring and testing the content/script, detailing the event day execution, and organizing the post-event processes.
- Execution - supervising event execution and ensuring all necessary elements are available and in place.
- Analysis - determining the success of each event and documenting the areas of improvement.
- Enhancement - incorporating past event feedback and platform/production innovations into each subsequent event to continually improve event delivery.
Requirements
- BA/BS
- 4-7 years of webcasting project management experience
- Live TV production and/or webcasting experience preferred
- Experience working directly with multiple clients on multiple projects as part of a webcasting event services team
- Strong familiarity with in-studio and remote broadcasts
- Corporate communication / learning experience preferred
- Advanced proficiency in using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Project
- Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills
- Demonstrated problem solving, decision-making, and creative thinking abilities
- Ability to work as needed during production hours, including evenings and weekends
- Experience managing a team and clients, both remotely and in-person
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
