Yoh has a contract opportunity for a RNET Test Ops Engineer to join our client in Overland Park, KS.

Job Overview:

- Contractor will provide technical support in the execution and maintenance of the production network.
- Follows proven processes to ensure the quality of new software and hardware does not negatively impact our customers, perform feature/new product testing and software/hardware validation for major systems with no direct supervision. Candidate has understanding of two or more systems/platforms both inside and outside the organization.
- The candidate should have a thorough understanding of IP routing, switching and the OSI model.
- The candidate would have experience with Cisco and Juniper firewalls, routers and switches, EVDO. Plans, designs, troubleshoot and resolve problems in order to stabilize and optimize the network to meet customer requirements for both software and hardware.
- Configures and integrates different IP elements and solutions in new and live customer networks.

Job Responsibilities:

Candidate will be responsible for (with minimal supervision):

- Test selected new feature functionality which provides new products and services, and includes items which enhance systems flexibility, reliability and maintainability.
- Perform selected integration and regression testing on new software.
- Manage selected software patch testing and applications.
- Provide first level assistance for trouble resolution with minimal supervision.
- Follow and execute test schedules and plans.
- Ensure assigned testing system problems are documented, assigned, communicated, and appropriately resolved.
- Verify that all scheduled processing is completed in accordance with schedules.
- Assist with implementation of new application systems and software into the testing environments.
- Perform code migration versioning and standards verification in the testing environment.
- Assist with ensuring all impacted organizations are coordinated with and represented.

Job Requirements

- Technical Skills Experience with Cisco & Juniper routers (both required/3 years +) Experience with protocols such as OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, STP Experience with Cisco & Juniper firewalls a plus (preferred)
- Experience with Windows and Unix Experience performing maintenance window activities, troubleshooting, and making timely decisions
- Experience with quickly and accurately reviewing configurations and understanding the impact
- Personal Skills
- Good verbal communication skills (experience working with control centers & field technicians a plus)
- Experience working in a fast paced environment & the ability to jump from one maintenance event to the next
- Detailed oriented
- Technical Certifications -CCNA or CCNP JNCIA-M JNCIA-FWV or JNCIS-FWV (not required)
