San Diego Reader Cos. is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Web Designer / Front-End Developer to join our Product team in Downtown San Diego. The Product team develops consumer-facing web sites & mobile applications, ranging from our daily deal platform to iPhone applications. The Web Designer will contribute to the team with their creative prowess and technical expertise, working on multiple projects simultaneously. User experience is their top priority and they can bend a browser to their will. Their eye for detail will be evident in their designs and their code.Requirements

  • Significant web design & development experience taking projects from concept to code.
  • Serious skills in web interface programming, including HTML/XHTML, CSS, and JavaScript/AJAX.
  • Deep understanding of cross-browser development and debugging techniques.
  • Comfortable with web programming (PHP, MySQL, Apache, Linux).
  • At home in a small, energetic and fluid start-up environment.
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and presentation).

Pluses

  • iPhone application development experience.
  • Experience with rapid & iterative development cycles (e.g., agile and extreme programming).
  • Passion for innovative products & technologies, and open-source projects.
