Senior Front End Developer

The Software Developer will focus on the Front End and be responsible for reviewing PRDs and wireframes, and creating HTML/CSS web pages using Catalyst and Apache. Will work closely with the Product team and Engineering Manager to satisfy user interface requirements, and work with QA to design tests and walkthroughs. This is an important technical leadership position within the organization with the ability to greatly influence and impact the product we deliver.

Responsibilities:
• Specify database schemas for the models to satisfy front end requirements.
• Develop Perl code for Catalyst models, views, and controllers
• Develop HTML/CSS web pages for Catalyst views
• Develop Javascript solutions for dynamic widgets, JSON, and XML data processing
• Work with Product to develop consistent look-and-feel across product line
• Work with technical leads and other senior engineers on HTML/CSS/Javascript standards
• Use Scrum Agile development method to develop Product Backlog Items, Tasks, and Story Point Estimates
• Maintain consistent documentation between code, web pages, and product PRDs

Requirements:
• 5+ years of CSS/HTML – working knowledge of CSS 3.0 and HTML 5 a plus
• Expert in Javascript/Ajax/DOM
• Experience working with Prototype, JQuery, YUI and/or other similar framework
• Experience working with PSD and web graphic files
• Experience working in Linux/Unix environment
• Excellent written, verbal, and non-verbal communication skills
• Strong initiative - capable of working on a self-sufficient basis and able to identify areas of potential technical improvement
• Self-management - capable of prioritizing and executing tasks
• Problem solving - ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues

Preferred:
• 3+ years of Perl experience
• Expertise in: MySQL, DBI, Catalyst, Template::Toolkit
• Excellent data mining abilities with MySQL
• Experience with Test Driven Development
• Experience with Apache
• Experience with Revision control – Subversion, CVS, Perforce or others
• Experience with Graphic/Web design
• MVC implementation experience
• Scrum/Agile development
• Experience with other languages/systems
• BS/MS degree
