Are you an experienced tester looking for a team where you make a large impact on the product and its quality? Want to be involved in part of a $600MM+ business and one of Microsoft's key bets? Want to work on a project with a ship cycle measured in months instead of years? You can address all of those by joining the Bing User Experience test team. The search space has a strong set of competitors (those *other* search companies) with a mature feature set - the immediate challenge is to deliver core functionality while working on killer features that keep users coming back for more. This position will help deliver the rendering server that all of Bing UX teams use. We are moving from using our own implementation of a web server and native code to IIS, ASP.Net MVC and managed code.

We are looking for SDETs that can deal effectively with ambiguity and a fast paced environment. This position will require the ability to influence peers in development and program management, as well as people on other teams. As a SDET on our team you will be focused on providing feedback on product design and user scenarios to ensure testability, evaluating and improving the test coverage for areas, deep technical involvement in your feature areas, tracking down and following up on live site issues, and working to improve the overall quality of testing.

Successful candidates will be creative and be drawn to solving both end-user and testing problems in radical new ways. Candidates should relish the opportunity to work on bleeding-edge search technologies and stay up to speed on a rapidly changing technology base. Since this is a fast-moving team, candidates should have strong multitasking skills and be able to balance work in multiple areas simultaneously. You must be able to tackle technical and engineering issues independently, can ramp up quickly on a new technology, can drive cross group and cross discipline collaborations, and be passionate about innovating test methodologies and establishing efficient processes. We are looking for experienced SDETs who have excellent technical and communication (verbal and written) skills, work well with other teams with in product teams and across product groups, have successfully shipped product(s), have strong coding experience in .Net/C# or C/C++, a strong background in test case design and automation and a proven history of driving test strategy and development for a feature area, and have a strong customer focus. Candidates need to be self-starters with a relentless focus on getting things done, and should have passion for engineering excellence and learning. Great problem solving skills are required. 5 or more years' experience, a complete ship cycle and a BS/MS in Computer Science or related technical area preferred.
