Senior Software Development Engineer in Test

The Bing Social Search Team is looking for an exceptional engineer to help test innovative Search experiences.

Success in this position requires a broad set of experiences and skills. We are looking for an SDET that is smart, energetic, highly motivated, self-driven, passionate for online technologies, proactive in problem solving, excellent written and verbal communication skills, aptitude for cross group collaboration, excellent trouble shooting and problem solving, aptitude for learning new technologies, and confident. Leadership skills preferred. Ideal Candidates must have the desire to make a positive change in the product, and must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment that includes an aggressive release schedule.

Responsibilities include:

• Find creative solutions to test a distributed and highly scalable infrastructure, reliably and repeatedly with confidence

• Perform automated functional, stress, reliability, and performance testing

• Analyze and decompose a complicated software system and design a strategy to test this system.

• Define and measure release criteria automatically for product to track release readiness

• Perform detailed product risk analysis and prioritize test investment based on risk

• Design and implement tools/infrastructure/test automation to improve test efficiency and effectiveness

• Collaborate with Development & PM teams effectively to deliver quality

Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience in programming such as C# and .Net

• Good Troubleshooting/Debugging experience.

• Breadth of knowledge of internet-based web services including networking and web technologies such as .NET, ASP, XML/HTML, AJAX, and Java Script

• Understanding of test areas such as functional, performance, and security testing.

• Understanding of effective test case generation methodologies.

• Ability to design and implement end-to-end test automation solutions.

• Understanding of Test Processes.

• Bachelor degree or higher in Computer Science or commensurate experience, and minimum of 5 years of software development / testing experience
