Job Summary
Break Media is seeking a Senior System Engineer to provide support and services to ensure a healthy HW and network environment for our in-house Ad Platform application Apex, which is currently providing display and video ads services on Break Medias network.
Responsibilities:
Administrating and maintaining the Apex server cluster, load balancer, and network configuration
Deploying Apex release codes/artifacts into the production server cluster
Monitoring Apex production clusters performance and service level
Some database administration activities to support Apexs database (MySQL)
Other ancillary server environment setup and maintenance (dev, QA, staging environments, etc.)
Facilitating server system and network incident response activities to minimize production impact
Working with corporate IT to evolve the server environment for better reliability and performance
Defining and/or improving Apex system administration and management processes for better quality, security, and higher efficiency
Experience / Qualifications:
Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience
Effective system problem solver with good troubleshooting skills and high responsibility
Some experience in application quality, maintenance, and support
Proficient in Linux system administration, good understanding of LAMP environment, local and wide-area networks, and web services
Familiar with database administration (such as MySQL) a plus
Familiar with quality improvement practices, QA and test methodologies a plus
Familiar with some PHP programming, web programming basics a plus
Willingness to participate in on-call preventive maintenance and unscheduled service events
